When we ‘re stationary for long periods, our body’s metabolism and cellular activity slows down.
It goes into fat-storing hibernation mode.
Recovery then slows down from training because less blood is being shuttled around.
And less cellular activity happening for repair.
Getting our ‘steps in’ to move more, isn’t always possible.
But, becoming a master fidgeter is!
This is how fat-burning results can compound.
Look for every excuse to move.
I make it a game with myself each day, to see what is the least amount of times I can sit down within a day.
House chores become an excuse to burn fat
Standing at a desk becomes an excuse to burn fat
It’s amazing how much fat you burn when you look for excuses to fidget:
- Small amount in a day
- Ok amount in a week
- Noticeable amount in a month
That’s fat burning compounded. And you didn’t even have to try.
However, this only works effectively IF your body is optimised for performance. By having good insulin sensitivity.
Becuase your body can then easily switch between it’s two energy burning pathways. At the right times:
Fat burning pathway – rest and digest (master fidgeter)
Carb burning pathway – training and performance (master warrior)
