For the past six months, I’ve been relentlessly focusing on the mind-muscle connection in every single TRX workout.
Internalising my thoughts and focusing on nothing else but the single muscle I am training.
It’s helped massively with stress and anxiety.
We’ve been trying to buy a flat and we’ve been living month to month out of Airbnbs…
which is exciting and cool but it can kind of weighs you down.
Then you just don’t know if you’re actually going to get the house. It’s all part and parcel of the deal right, and stress is a stress.
But nothing could really shift it…
I was journaling.
I was doing my gratitude writing.
But it just wasn’t enough.
Until I went into workouts with this feeling of…
“right I’m gonna make this work out like a meditation”
I’m going to use my body to master my mind.
Every single time I did that, every single time I just focused on the muscle for an extended period of time…
(One focus for an extended period of time, which is essentially a form of meditation.)
I finished the workout not only feeling stronger but I just felt connected with my body.
The stress and anxiety just kind of shifted.
Using the body to master the mind.
