What the mind believes:
“I can only transform my body in the gym using weights and gym equipment”
What the muscle categorically knows:
Your muscle doesn’t know what it’s holding or where it is.
All it knows is the tension and contractional force (squeeze) you can place upon it through a range of motion.
Regardless of the tool used to do so.
I want you to re-read that.
Think about it.
This is how it hit me 7 years ago like a train…
If the muscle doesn’t know what it’s holding…
Then why the F*** am I constantly striving to be in a busy, expensive, crowded, ego-driven gym environment holding a weight.
I could be holding anything! I could be anywhere!
[LIGHTBULB DING!]
This is why and how I have only used a suspension trainer and resistance band for the last 7 years to build muscle. At home and when travelling the world.
The tool used to do so is irrelevant.
This is why my clients also have such good success…
It’s started with changing your mindset of belief.
How do we do this ‘tension and contractual force (squeeze)’?
Using INTERNAL mindful muscle connection and constantly practising to master the effective exercise execution technique.
Building muscle and transforming your body, is in the mind.
If my better half would let me, I would get this statement tattooed on my left arm. It’s the most powerful thing you can embed into your mind for endless progression.
Your transformational fitness results are only limited by your mind, by your internal focus.
I speak from a frustrated experience…
Many years ago when I trained in a gym, I was the complete opposite to this.
I focused on EXTERNAL first and last – how much weight can I add to the bar – lift the bar.
Without ever appreciating, understanding or mastering INTERNAL.
Eventually, progression got stale, injuries became common and workouts were mentally dissatisfying.
It wasn’t until I left that environment with a travel backpack, TRX suspension trainer and resistance band AND a resounding strong will to maintain, if not to improve, my overall fitness that everything changed.
And I began to see workouts as a form of INTERNAL meditation as well as a physical challenge.
It’s been 6 years now since I ever stepped foot inside a gym. And my body and mind have never been better.
It wasn’t until I was in my own space, mastering internal muscle-centric technique that my body really transformed.
When my mind connected with my body the results were outstanding.
Both physically and mentally.
How Can You Build Muscle Without Weights?
With any other tool that is versatile and functional, such as:
- A TRX suspension trainer (my favourite)
- A resistance band
- Your body weight
Its the technique and mindful connection to your body, mind muscle connection, that matter!
Here’s to your fitness freedom!
