A friend once said to me:
“I’ve tried EVERYTHING to shift the belly fat. Keto worked for a bit, then I plateaued. Carnivore gave me results but I couldn’t stick with it.
What’s wrong with me?”
Nothing’s wrong with you.
The problem is the fitness industry wants to make simple things complicated.
So they can sell you more stuff.
Here’s the truth…
All successful diets work because they restore your insulin sensitivity.
Or in other words, reduce your insulin resistance.
That’s it.
When you have good insulin sensitivity, your body knows exactly what to do with the food you eat.
It stops dumping nutrients into fat cells…
And starts placing them into muscle and functional cells where they belong.
Think of different diets like branches on a tree.
They look different on the surface…
But if you trace them down, they all connect to the same root:
Improving your insulin sensitivity.
For example:
- Carnivore = No carbs. Carbs cause insulin to be released. Too much insulin and you get insulin resistance.
- Keto = Same as above.
- Zoe (the glucose/blood sugar monitor) = Focused on lowering carb intake to lower blood sugar. Reduces insulin spikes, which reduces insulin resistance.
- Counting macros (calorie counting) = Makes you realise how much carbs you are actually eating. You then swap those carb macros for fats and protein instead. Less carbs, less insulin, etc.
Different wrappers, same core solution.
But honestly, you just need to learn two things:
- Nutrition timing: When to have your carbs.
- Nutrition partitioning: How to pair your carbs with fats and proteins.
Then you’ll be able to burn fat and build muscle gradually each day for long-term sustainability.
I teach you how, for free, inside this post.
With all that being said, the best diet approach is the one that works for you sustainably.
I’m just another voice in the minefield out there.
But I hope I can give you some insight and challenge your thinking.
My mentors did it with me years ago.
That’s how I learned this stuff.
