Raw TRUTH About Fasting to Lose Weight

I LOVE fasting.

I recently did a 62-hour one.

Feeling lethargic, brain foggy, and not recovering from workouts well…

It was time to reset.

That’s why I find them so good. After doing one, I feel like I’ve gained a new body.

But the raw truth about using fasts to lose weight is that they won’t work as the sole solution.

They are boosters.

Not a foundational reliance.

They will help you lose a little fat in the fast window, but most people rebound straight after.

Often gaining more than what they had before.

Why?

Because of leptin.

Leptin is the hunger monster in your belly and once it gets going it’s hard to control.

After a fast, most dive into a carb-heavy meal…

Which spikes insulin and LEPTIN levels.

That one-carb meal turns into two… three… even four meals in a short window.

Instead, have a meal that has ZERO carbs in it.

Just veg (non-starchy), protein, and fats.

You’ll get zero cravings after.

However, Before have a date or half a kiwi first.

They are easy on your stomach and prepare it for a bigger meal.

Top tips for fasting:

1. Start small and build up over many months.

Try a 12-hour one first.

A couple of months later, try a 24-hour one, then 36 etc

2. Drink water with electrolytes during the fast.

If it goes on longer than 18 hours I add a small scoop of essential amino acids too.

To help prevent muscle breakdown.

3. Do lunchtime to lunchtime.

Not nighttime to nighttime.

You’re more likely to binge ending a fast late evening. And it can interfere with sleep.

A fast is an incredibly powerful tool in your arsenal.

But, it will only work effectively alongside the right nutrition framework.

The nutrition framework gets you 70% of the way there.

Tools such as fasts and exercise get you the other 30% of the way.
