Here’s What to Ask Yourself Before Spending $$$’s on Fitness Supplements

I hate supplements that promise the body and health of a Greek god

Their marketing makes people believe they can hack their way to health and longevity using them.

A friend recently asked me if I thought a $149 supplement stack would help him.

“I want more energy as I get tired towards the end of the day, and I want to build muscle easier”

…he told me.

Rather than buy supplements as a ‘plaster’. We looked at the root cause of the problems:

#1 Gaining More Energy

Most people rely on “caffeine and carbs” for energy fixes.

If you’re waking up each day feeling sluggish and you get daily fatigue…

Caffeine hits and energy bars are a short term fix with long term consequences.

The root cause of this is most likely your low potassium levels.

You need to ensure your daily potassium intake is higher than your sodium intake.

Otherwise you’ll feel out of whack and generally tired.

How do you get high levels of potassium?

Lots of green veg.

Yep, it’s that boring and that simple.

Quick meals like burritos, stir fry, and snacking on any easy carb source (crackers, cereal, nuts)

Aren’t going to do it.

The only supplement you need to help you with this, is powdered greens.

Quick tip: Moringa and Wheatgrass powders are packed full of potassium.

But try and get at least one meal a day that is packed full of green veg.

Then top up with the greens.

#2 Building Muscle Easier

My friend was going to rely on creatine for this.

Creatine does help with performance. Studies have proven it.

I’ve used it myself for years. 

However, it will not make you magically gain more muscle.

(I made this same mistake early on in my fitness days)

Being super busy with his job and family, my friend was trying to fit the gym in sporadically.

His solution wasn’t his input = Creatine

It was changing his output = Working out consistently with effective technique

Realistically, he didn’t have time to use a gym enough to make a difference.

So I got him to start doing suspension trainer workouts with ‘Muscle-Centric Technique’ at home…

Four times a week, on his lunch break.

To build muscle effectively you need to isolate the individual muscle you want to target, and use slow, controlled technique to place all the load onto it.

Then you’ll create a lean muscle building stimulus from each workout.
